Head
With cream and starting at back of head, cast on 8 sts and P 1 row.
Next row: Inc 1 st at each end of row. (10 sts).
Starting with a P row, st st 7 rows straight.
Dec 1 st at end of next 2 rows (8 sts).
Inc 1 st at end of next 2 rows (10 sts).
St st 4 rows straight.
TO SHAPE MUZZLE
Next row: K8, turn, P6, mark next st, turn and work on centre 6 sts only for now.
St st 2 rows.
Next row: K2 tog, K2, K2 tog (4 sts).
Next row: P.
Break off cream.
With RS facing, join in brown at marker, pick up and K 3 sts along first side of muzzle, K across 4 sts of nose on needle, with spare needle pick up and K 3 sts along second side of muzzle, K to end (14 sts).
Revert to original needles.
Next row: P.
Next row: K7, K2 tog, turn.
P1, P2 tog, turn.
K1, K2 tog, turn.
P1, P2 tog, P to end (10 sts).
Next row: K3, K2 tog twice, K3 (8 sts).
P 1 row and cast off.
Body
With brown, cast on 20 sts and P 1 row.
Next row: K5, turn and P back.
K3, turn and P back.

TO SHAPE SHOULDERS
Next row: K5, K2 tog twice, K4, K2 tog twice, K5 (18 sts).

Cast off purlwise.
Front legs – make 1 cream, 1 brown
Starting at paw, cast on 4 sts.
First row: Inc in every st (8 sts).
Next row: P.
Next row: K2, K2 tog twice, K2 (6 sts).
St st 7 rows straight.*
Next row: Inc 1 st at each end of row (8 sts).
St st 5 rows straight.
Break off yarn, thread through sts, pull up tightly and fasten off.
Back legs – make 1 cream, 1 brown
Work as for front legs to *.
Inc 1 st at each end of next and 2 foll alt rows (12 sts).
St st 3 rows.
Fasten off as for front legs.
Ears – make 2
With brown, cast on 6 sts.
Starting with a P row, st st 3 rows.
Next row: K2 tog, K2, K2 tog (4 sts).
P 1 row.
Next row: K2 tog twice (2 sts).
Next row: P2 tog and fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Tail
With cream, work as for one of the ears, leaving a long tail.
To make up
BODY AND HEAD
With K sides together, fold and sew up long seam of body. Refold so that seam lies at centre back, then sew up bottom cast on edges. With K sides tog, fold head over and sew up side seams, leaving neck open. Turn both pieces RS out and stuff firmly, carefully shaping the nose, bottom and shoulders. Sew head to body.
EARS AND FACE
Weave yarn tail down one side of ear. Sew ear to head as if bent backwards, then fold forwards and catch down with a couple of sts. Sew on beads for eyes (or embroider). Stitch a nose and mouth with embroidery thread.
